Update: November’s Temperature and Precipitation Outlook
The Climate Prediction Center issued the Climate Outlook for the month of November. The outlook is designed to point out areas that could see weather conditions which stray from the norm or average.
The Precipitation Outlook shows parts of the South including Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma could see above normal precipitation. This area recently experienced heavy rain and flooding from a few storm systems in October. This has helped alleviate the drought in the South. The U.S. Drought Monitor now shows a smaller area of moderate-severe drought.
Unfortunately, the Precipitation Outlook doesn’t look helpful for the West. Most of California is still under an exceptional drought and could use higher rainfall amounts. The CPC Monthly Outlook shows California is expecting normal precipitation for the month.
