VIDEO: Tornadoes Touch Down in Michigan, Kansas and Missouri on Labor Day

The National Weather Service Office in Gaylord, Mich. has confirmed that at least four tornadoes touched down in northern Michigan on Labor Day. Those tornadoes were associated with a string of severe storms made their way through Michigan on Monday, blowing trees down, damaging buildings and rattling nerves.

Three of the tornadoes that touched down were EF-1s, while the fourth was an EF-0; each touching down in different counties.

Further south, in Kansas, an EF-1 tornado was confirmed to have touched down in Chautauqua County. The National Weather Service in Wichita also said the tornado did damage to a few outbuildings.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis also conformed a tornado touch down in the St. Louis metro area.

Here’s a county-by-county wrap-up, with information provided by the National Weather Service Offices in Gaylord and Wichita.

Kalkaska County, Mich.

• Max winds: 100-mph
• Max width:125 yards
• Path length: 3.95 miles
• Time on the ground: 6 minutes

Structure damage was limited, but falling trees and limbs did cause damage to at least a few homes. No injuries were reported.

Otsego County, Mich.

• Rating: EF-1
• Max winds: 110-mph
• Max width: 210 yards
• Path length: 7.3 miles
• Time on the ground: 14 minutes

Structure damage was limited here as well, but falling trees and limbs did cause damage to a few residences. No injuries were reported.

Cheboygan County, Mich.

• Rating: EF-0
• Max winds: 80-mph
• Max width: 30 yards
• Path length: 0.2 miles
• Time on the ground: 1 minute

Damage was limited to a wooded area. A few small trees were downed. Again, no injuries were reported.

Crawford County, Mich.

• Rating: EF-1
• Max winds: 100-mph
• Max width: 75 yards
• Path length: 9.1 miles
• Time on the ground: 13 minutes

This tornado crossed I-75, but no vehicles were reported damaged. Trees were uprooted and one home and a barn reported damage. No injuries were reported.

This tornado had two touch downs.
