The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Baton Rouge, Louisiana early Friday morning.
According to EMS, one person was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The tornado knocked power out and brought down trees in east Baton Rouge on Friday, May 12, prompting authorities to reroute traffic while the damage was cleared.
The weather also forced the closure of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge.
