For many, Major League Baseball home openers are good indication that Spring has arrived. However, mother nature had a different idea for the New York Yankees. Monday’s home opener versus the Houston Astros in the Bronx had to be postponed due to inclement weather, according to the team’s twitter post.

Weather observations near the Bronx reported a light rain starting at 6 am in the morning with visibilities reduced to two and a half miles. The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday and the forecast looks to cooperate. Conditions will be sunny with temperatures in the chilling 40s. The last time the Yankees has to postpone a home opener was in 2008.
