Weekly Update: How Much of the Great Lakes are Covered with Ice?

Here at WeatherNation we continue to follow how much ice cover there is on the Great Lakes.

According to the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory, as of Tuesday, December 26th, 2017 there was six percent ice coverage across the Great Lakes.

There is six percent ice across the Great Lakes as of Tuesday, December 26th, 2017.

Ice coverage on each lake was the following:

Lake Erie – 6.22%

Lake Ontario – 1.52%

Lake Huron – 10.81%

Lake Michigan – 4.69%

Lake Superior – 4.39%

St. Claire (small lake) – 27.91%

Ice coverage by lake across the Great Lakes through Wednesday, December 27th, 2017. Numbers have been rounded.
