Record Rain Swamps The Southeast

Record rainfall fell in multiple cities on Saturday, keeping high temperatures at record-cold levels as well! Both Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida had daily rainfall records with more than two inches reported, *plus* both cities only reached into the lower 50’s for high temperatures which were record *cold* high temperatures for both cities.

On Sunday, rain will be focused into the Carolinas, with pockets of heavy downpours around the coastal regions.

By the afternoon, rain should be contained to the immediate coastline, tapering through the second half of the day.

Rainfall Potential

An excessive rainfall outlook has been issued for eastern portions of North Carolina from Wilmington to Jacksonville, Morehead City, New Bern, Pamlico Sound, and the Outer Banks.

Fortunately, the heaviest of the rain is behind us and we will likely see an inch or less of additional accumulation.
