Where’s the Peak Fall Color Now

10 Oct 2017, 3:01 pm

The season of fall is a top favorite among many Americans and as you take a look at some of these photos below its easy to see why.

Most of the mountains out west are sprinkled with Aspen tress that display a dominate yellow color mixed in with the lush evergreens that cover the rugged mountains of the intermountain west.

The mountain views are hard to beat; however, the gorgeous variety of color we see across the mid-west and eastern half of the country is nothing to sneeze at either. This is what portions of the upper-midwest are looking like right now.

While many of the higher elevation mountain ranges across the country are past peak color, you can still find partial to near peak fall color across the Southern Appalachians over the nnext couple of weeks. Here is a current look at the US Map of Fall Color status around October 10.

If you’re waiting for the best time to go leaf peeping across the mountains of Tennessee, North Carolina and North Georgia wait until the end of October. Should be a nice and colorful drive through the mountains by then!

Enjoy! Oh, and don’t forget to tweet us your fall photos @WeatherNation. We love to share it on-air!
