Windy Weather Ahead in Parts of the West
Windy weather conditions along with cold temperatures are ahead for areas in the West. High Wind Warnings, Watches, and Gale Warnings have already been issued.
Wind gusts to 70 mph are possible in the high country and mountain passes. 40 to 60 mph gusts are possible throughout the rest of the advisory and warning areas. The strongest winds are expected overnight, sustained near 30 mph at times.
An area of high pressure is driving in the strong northeasterly wind. The high is also bringing colder temperatures to the area.
A Freeze Watch has been issued north of Los Angeles in the Ojai Valley for Friday morning. Temperatures may once again drop below freezing tomorrow morning. Readings have been well below average today over California and are once again expected to be cold tonight.
