Winter Storm Brings Portions of the South to A Halt
Snow, rain, sleet, and freezing rain brought portions of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama to stand still this morning. Slick roadways caused numerous road closures, school closures, traffic delays, car accidents, and flight cancellations around the region this morning. Much of the precipitation comes to an end this morning but travel will continue to be hazardous.

After a chilly day today, temperatures will be recovering quickly through the weekend for he Houston area. Forecast details show highs climbing into the upper 60s by the end of the weekend.
Another arctic blast arrives early next week and sends temperatures plummeting for much the eastern half of the country.
