Winter weather advisories are in effect from Thursday night until late Friday morning for parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. These advisories mean that periods of snow will likely cause travel difficulties. Slick roads and low visibility will be the primary weather threats.
Winter Weather Forecast
The latest timing for the changeover from rain to snow will be just before midnight Thursday night and most of the precipitation should be snow by sunrise Friday. Based on this timing the snowfall accumulation will not be high, but it won’t take much to create travel headaches.
Here is the latest snowfall forecast for the Southeast. The highest snowfall should be around Atlanta with 1-2″ in the forecast with lower totals in the forecast as you head southwest.
