Winter Weather Returns to the West
The calendar says its late spring, but the weather is acting more like winter in the West with a round of heavy snow ahead. Winter weather alerts are spread throughout the region, from Washington to Colorado.
Snowfall totals will climb over a foot in some of the highest elevations over the next several days. Even the Front Range may see snow, along with areas of Southern Idaho.
The snow will continue to increase across the Cascades into the Bitterroots this afternoon and evening. As the storm system moves to the east Wednesday, snow will push into the Tetons, Wasatch, and Rockies.
Energy will shift into the Plains Wednesday evening. The cold air and moisture will push over the Front Range and High Plains. Snow will begin to fall in the rest of Wyoming and Colorado, while accumulations will gradually diminish further west.
