The Pacific Northwest is suffering from the other end of the weather spectrum as torrential rains have continued to splash the region. KOMOnews reports that in Orting, Washington residents of about 750 homes have been asked to evacuate as the Carbon River begins to spill its banks, and in Whatcom county an emergency has been declared due to flooded roads and mudslides. At the time of this posting our HAMweather River Center shows three major floods for the northwest, with many more rivers at or beyond the flood stage.
