WTXL – ABC 27 News Joins the WeatherNation Family
WeatherNation is announcing their partnership with ABC affiliate WTXL (ABC 27 News) for the broadcast of 24/7 weather and news reports on digital TV Channel 27.3 throughout the Tallahassee, Fla., and Thomasville/Valdosta, Ga., television viewing market.
Under terms of the agreement, the multi-format WeatherNation, which provides local, regional and national television weather news services, will also become available to viewers on Comcast Channel 209.
“Tallahassee, Thomasville and Valdosta areas have seen heat advisories, severe storms and one of the hottest summers on record,” said Jason Wildenstein, vice president/general manager of WTXL ABC27. “ABC27 and our Weather Now brand powered by WeatherNation will extend our commitment to provide the best and most complete forecasts for viewers.”
“We are excited to partner with WeatherNation because it builds on our ability to provide timely, relevant and accurate forecasts in a manner that is simply unmatched in this area,” said Casanova Nurse, chief meteorologist for ABC27. “It has always been about serving the community by being the go-to source for late-breaking weather coverage. Now with the combined efforts of WeatherNation, our commitment to being the No. 1 weather authority in the north Florida/south Georgia region has never been greater.”
“WeatherNation’s world-class technology and its professional talent will add to the quality news and weather coverage that ABC 27 viewers have come to expect over the years,” said Michael Norton, president of WeatherNation. “Our knowledgeable team of meteorologists provides around-the-clock coverage of breaking weather news and forecasting.”

WeatherNation’s team of seasoned meteorologists uses the latest technology from Baron Services and its Omni® and VIPIR® Systems to forecast and illustrate current conditions with engaging and innovative real-time 3D graphical mapping that help viewers understand the in-depth story behind their weather. A powerful, severe-weather tracking system also gives viewers a detailed visual assessment of storms and other extreme weather, from the satellite view down to street-level detail.
