Last week, an intense mid-latitude cyclone targeted the West Coast of the United States, ushering a strong atmospheric river into Oregon and California. Another tongue of moisture is moving through the West Coast this week. This batch of snow has prompted Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories along the Sierra Nevada. Snowfall totals over the last few days have been over 20" in some locations. Travel will be difficult, so plan accordingly. Some alerts linger into Wednesday.

Additional snowfall is still possible through Wednesday. The highest totals will be over the southern Sierra Nevada.

Some light rainfall will be seen through Southern California, but all of the flooding threats have dropped off. Temperatures will be the main component to watch for as lows drop for Wednesday and Thursday morning.
