Multiple shortwaves (weak disturbances) will continue to move through the OhValley into the southern Appalachians through Tuesday, creating chances for light snow while reinforcing cold temperatures. The first low-pressure system brought Kansas City its first accumulations of the season on Saturday, with several inches falling in the morning.
Additional snow is expected Sunday in the Central Appalchians where winter weather advisories have been issued.
Snow on Sunday is expetced to gradually taper off around the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia. Another quickly moving shortwave will move through Tennessee Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning, bringing additional snow chances farther south into Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, and even northern Georgia.
Additional snow looks to be relatively light, but 1-3" could quickly turn roadways slick on I-40 and I-26.
