Our first major lake effect snow event wraps up in parts of the northeast. Winds have been from the west and northwest, which supported heavy snow on the east side of Lake Erie, Ontario, and Michigan with heavy snow seen in the U.P. of Michigan from Lake Superior. Winter alerts expired Wednesday morning, but expect some slippery driving through the day. Snowfall storm totals reached over a two feet in portions of Western New York!

Any lingering snowfall will be light and isolated to areas downwind of Lake Ontario.

Temperatures will return closer to seasonal by Thursday. More precipitation moves into the northeast by Friday.

More details on the full Eastern Regional Forecast can always be found :10 past the hour.
