A storm system moving out of the 4 Corners through West Texas is bringing snow to the Lone Star State, with potential for generally light accumulations of snow. Winter alerts in far West Texas for the Davis and Pecos ranges continue into Sunday. More widespread than the snowfall will be the MUCH colder temperatures through the weekend. Temperatures have dropped 30-40 degrees compared to highs just a few days ago and will stay much below average this weekend!

Winter Weather Advisories and a Winter Storm Warning have been issued for snow up to eight inches. Snow showers will be generally light over the next 24 hours but we will see the highest elevations pick up on the best snowfall through the period.
