WeatherNation is seeking a behind the scenes Meteorologist to join our growing Support Team. The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will focus on providing technical and user support on all broadcast solutions. Also providing input for new software features; testing new software releases; developing broadcast-quality content for our customers; monitoring the timeliness and quality of all data delivered to our customers, and issuing forecast products. Having a passion for weather is crucial to this individual’s success.
Responsibilities/Activities:
Provide remote support services through phone and digital access
Perform product verification and testing
Desire to fulfill our mission of Critical Weather Intelligence
Manage the implementation of workstations within the organization
Maintain computer workstations, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving and issues that arise with the hardware and software
Manage and analyze in excess of 100 GB of data processed through our systems daily
Responsible for training all new weather staff on use of hardware, software, and data feeds relevant to their day to day workflow. This includes industry leading software, as well as brand specific technology and graphical interfaces
Develop relationships with industry venders to ensure access to IT products and support when required
Develop and maintain all processes for creating relevant content
Collaborated with peers to develop standardized operating procedures for day to day business, as well as breaking news situations
Responsible for taking request/feedback from viewership and creating an action plan to issues that develop
Work with affiliates to address and troubleshoot concerns, determine and execute the best resolution for both parties
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, On-call for troubleshooting
Minimum Requirements:
BS in Meteorology or equivalent
Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Windows
Background in use of weather software and data products is preferred (Barons)
Strong communication skills a must – both written and verbal
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
We are a 24/7/365 operation, flexibility in the schedule will be necessary
Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000
