TEXAS - It was another hot November day across the state of Texas yesterday, where numerous record high temperatures fell, including Houston and Brownsville, soaring above the 90-degree mark on November 16th.<h1><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-16 195730-1763348279461.png">Southern Plains</h1>Although Texas is no stranger to heat, temperatures will feel more like summer, with some locales reaching high temperatures 20°+ above average!<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-17 130107-1763409709222.png"><h1>Southeast</h1>As the ridge migrates further east later this week, places like Tennessee and North Carolina will get a bump to their afternoon highs. It is that time of year again—when millions of Americans hit the road or the skies to connect with friends and family. AAA is expecting a record number of travelers this year, a number surpassing a record-breaking 2024! Most travelers will hit the road vs flying.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-17 104347-1763401813998.png">With millions hitting the roads, traffic will be hard to avoid, no matter where you are heading. However, there will be some better times to do your traveling. AAA suggests starting the journey early but with a reasonable night of sleep the night prior.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-17 105052-1763401888415.png">With so many traveling over the holidays, there are some favored destinations. A Record Breaking Thanksgiving Travel Week Expected

Intense rain and wind began impacting California again on Thursday and continued throughout the weekend as a strong Pacific trough began moving inland. Flooding reports and landslides have been reported across the entire state over the last few days after some places received more than six inches of rain!<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-17 082640-1763393207828.png">Unfortunately, we're not out of the woods yet as another disturbance is moving through Monday. That will bring a renewed round of rain and snow for the Golden State. Another Round of Rain Moves Through California Today

The next few days are going to be really nice with above-average temperatures across the Central and Southern Plains. Highs are expected to creep into 80s. As we jump ahead a few days, the middle and end of next week are looking quite active and stormy! <img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-17 071247-1763388775321.jpg">Although we are a couple of days out from the event, some of the early signs point to heavy rain and severe chances increasing across the Southern Plains starting Wednesday. We're honing in on Thursday with the best bet to see rainfall overwhelm the soils in the southern plains. <img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-16 195938-1763348545151.png">The part of the forecast that's hard to nail down this far in advance: the severe threat. Are there ingredients that could help power severe storms? Absolutely. <img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-17 071201-1763388747933.jpg">Record heat building from Texas into the Deep South could certainly help drive storms to pack damaging winds or large hail. This far in advance, it's still a bit uncertain, however. <h1>OVERNIGHT</h1>Winter weather alerts remain in place for heavy snow in northern Maine, mixed snow and ice from northern New York through New Hampshire, and even lake effect snow warnings for western Pennsylvania. These alerts will remain in place through Monday.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1763375387255.png">Snow will be possible overnight and into Monday, with a few lake-effect bands possible. Things will be mostly clear by Monday night.<video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/2025-11-17 03-31-32-1763375514809.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video>An additional 3"- 6" will be possible before this system exits. <img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1763375556883.png">Another system will follow in the footsteps of this one, closer to the middle of the week.
