Earthquake and Forecast Tsunami in the Caribbean

At 9:52 pm ET January 9, 2018, an earthquake with preliminary magnitude of 7.6 occured north of Honduras in the Caribbean sea. Based on initial data from www.tsunami.gov tsunami waves are forecast for some coasts across the region. Tsunami waves reaching 0.3 to 1.0 meters above the tide level are possible for some coasts of Belize, Cuba, Honduras, Mexico, Cayman Islands and Jamaica.
