A local tornado outbreak occurred Wednesday, June 5 across the greater Maryland area, leading to (preliminarily) 13 reported tornadoes in Maryland, 3 in West Virginia, 3 in Ohio, 2 in Michigan, and 1 in Virginia. As of Thursday evening, National Weather Service Baltimore Washington D.C. did confirm seven tornadoes with the ratings of EF-0s and EF-1s. Final storm survey results are expected Friday.
The radar loop on Wednesday showed numerous severe thunderstorms moving to the east, across much of Maryland. There were several consecutive hours of tornado warnings and confirmed tornado reports through Wednesday evening.
