A strong low-pressure system that moved through the Plains and into the Great Lakes was responsible for highway shut-downs and blizzard conditions on Wednesday.
Thousands of folks in the Plains remain without power, so as winds intensify and temperatures drop make sure you have your generator up and running in case power goes out, and charge up those devices!
Intense bands of snow accompanied by 50-60 mph wind gusts will start to move east overnight. Areas around the Great Lakes could see snowfall amounts approaching 4-8 inches.
The low pushes into the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes overnight before moving into the northeast by the second half of the work week.
