The environment is ripe for wildfires to flare up since the soils are dry, winds are gusty, temperatures are warm through the Gulf States from Florida to Texas. Temperatures have been warm all week in Florida and the next few days are no different - potential record highs will be seen across the Sunshine state on Friday and Saturday!

A cold front will bring strong winds and dry air, prompting fire alerts through the Atlantic coast. Please be careful with any outdoor burning as winds will be in the range of 20-30 mph Friday with relative humidity values in the 20s.
