<p><strong>WEST </strong>- A series of atmospheric rivers have been responsible for wet, windy, and snowy weather in the northwestern U.S over the last few weeks. The next round of rain and snow is taking shape as our next river pushes in. Some areas that received the most recent rainfall picked up a few inches heading into this weekend.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1762163971054.png"></p><p>Our next system is gathering moisture and will work onshore early this week, bringing back more chances for rain and snow. Here's how much we might be in for over the next few days (below). Wednesday looks to be the day with the most widespread rain, which could lead to a renewed round of flooding. Parts of the northern Cascades could receive a foot or more of snow on the highest peaks.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1762164010453.png"></p><p>With multiple inches of rain on the way, the Weather Prediction Center is already monitoring coastal areas. Starting on Tuesday, the threat for flash flooding will return. That interest was fostered by his teachers and his father, who one time brought him onto the roof of their home to watch a funnel cloud move through the Everglades several miles away. Years of filmmaking and tv production in high school gradually pushed him toward broadcast meteorology at Florida State University, where he joined and eventually led the student run daily weather show. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology, he began his career at KESQ in Palm Springs, California before heading to KFSN in Fresno and WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina. He has covered a diverse array of extreme weather events, including haboobs and flash flooding in the desert, extreme snow in the Sierra, hurricanes, and Appalachian ice storms. He also enjoys telling stories and reporting about weather issues.

<p>We're well on our way to winter, but high temperatures will be soaring across the Western and Central United States to start the month of November. Upper-level ridging is shifting east across the Southwest this weekend before settling over the Southern Plains during the work week.</p><p><br>Numerous high temperature records fell on Sunday across portions of Nebraska and Colorado. Denver hit a monthly record high of 83°.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1762163276657.png"></p><p>We're well on our way to winter, but high temperatures will soar across the Western and Central United States to start November. Upper-level ridging is expected to build across the Southwest before shifting slightly east into this week.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1762163313768.png"></p><p>A few record highs will be possible in Colorado and Texas into Monday and Tuesday.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1762163342955.png"></p><p>Looking into the weeks ahead, another ridge is likely to continue to bring high heat across the lower 48. How to Help Those Impacted by Hurricane Melissa

<p>Coastal areas will be dealing with intrusions of ocean water, known as coastal flooding, during the week ahead with the return of king tides!</p><h2>What is a "king tide?"</h2><p>When the gravitational pull of the sun and moon are both higher than normal, high and low tides become more pronounced, leading to flooding during high tide and potentially low water issues during the low tides.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 051621-1762088418982.png">This happens most often from the fall through the spring as the sun's gravitational pull on the earth is the strongest. Despite winter conditions in North America, the sun is actually closest to the earth in early January.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 051520-1762088418986.png"><br><br>King tides are most pronounced when the moon is at its closest point to the Earth in its orbit, which is known as perigee. This is happening at the same time as the full moon for both November and December, creating what's known as a supermoon. During these supermoon events, the moon will be about 14,000 miles closer to the Earth than normal!</p><h2><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 060337-1762088634156.png">November King Tides</h2><p>King tides will be ramping up throughout the week ahead. Note how much the tidal range grows in Charleston from now through Wednesday, increasing from about 6 feet to over 7 feet by Wednesday!</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1762165790353.png"></p><p>Tides near Miami (Virginia Key below) will also increase this week, increasing from about 2 feet to 3 feet!</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1762165816978.png"></p><p>Coastal flood alerts will likely be issued as we get closer to the mid-week time-frame, so be sure to check your high tide times locally and avoid areas near the coast during those times.<br><br>December will also feature a round of king tides with another supermoon!</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 054718-1762088653776.png"></p>

<h1>Early Work Week</h1><hr><p>We're in for several rounds of moisture in the north east throughout this work week. We'll start off with this clipper system bringing forth some relative moisture to the region. This forecast moisture model shows a small plume moving into the region by mid-week.</p><video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/2025-11-03 04-43-15-1762170213274.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video><p>However, the amount of rainfall that this system is expected to yield, is not terribly impressive.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1762170338103.png"></p><p>Going towards the end of the work week, temperatures will start to fall slightly. Some spots like Burlington, VT, for example, drop down into the high 40s for the daytime highs on Wednesday!</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1762170747448.png"></p><h1>Late Work Week</h1><hr><p>Going into the weekend, we have another, stronger system making it's way through the north east. This will funnel a much larger plume of moisture into the region.</p><p></p><video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/2025-11-03 05-07-57-1762171692226.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video><p>Some of the ingredients in the atmosphere will likely favor a far more active pattern than what we can expect earlier on this week. Some key factors are some warmer temps from the southeast, another is some slight wind shear. Just enough turn to yield some more rainfall.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1762171975570.png"></p><p>To time some of this rain out, we can expect the heaviest precipitation to occur around the overnight hours of Thursday, and then throughout the day on Friday. Some of the heaviest downpours can occur closer to the Great Lakes. We even have some snow in the forecast for some of our friends in New England!</p><video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/2025-11-03 05-10-54-1762171962957.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video><p>Accumulation wise, we can expect pretty heavy downpours almost region-wide. How Big Did the Hail Get in Texas Saturday?

<p>An upper-level low has been moving across the country, bringing rainy, windy, and cooler weather to many areas. Heavy rain caused flooding issues in the Northeast on Thursday where over 3 inches of rain fell in New York and New Jersey. The system moves out later tonight but parts of Northern New England could see some light snow.</p><video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/10/New Baron Video 3-1761966114231.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video><p>We may even see minor snow accumulations in parts of the Adirondacks, as well as the Green and White mountains.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/10/1-1761966147465.png"></p><p>As the rain clears, expect cloudy, cool, and gusty conditions to persist into Saturday morning. Large hail and damaging winds will be the biggest threats today.  Thankfully it doesn't look like there will be a large amount of rotation with any of these storms so the tornado risk will be low.
