A high-pressure system across the central United States has locked in the heat and multiple records along with it. Records have been broken and some cities have seen temps upwards of 30 plus degrees above average! As the winds continue to stream in from the south, we will see a few more days of record warmth before temps plummet down. It will be a roller coaster ride this week with temps up and down! Today, Texas saw multiple records including cities like Laredo, Abilene, and Dallas which all saw temps soar into the 90s!

Expect more record warmth on Tuesday across the Midwest, north, and south. Wednesday, we see the list of potential records sticking mainly to the Northeast. This will be anywhere from 15-35° above average!

A cold front from the swopping in from Canada is going to become a major player in bringing the temps down. Some temperatures will plummet big time! Denver drops from near 70 today to 40s by Tuesday. Minneapolis will see temps in the 20s by Wednesday, and Chicago will drop from the 70s to 30s! All wardrobes will be needed this week, as Mother Nature brings the temp swings!

Good news for the Spring-lovers, the warmer-than-average pattern looks to continue into the start of March with confidence in the eastern 2/3rds of the country seeing warm air to start the month.
