Rob grew up in South Florida, where daily afternoon storms and hurricanes piqued his interest in meteorology early on. That interest was fostered by his teachers and his father, who one time brought him onto the roof of their home to watch a funnel cloud move through the Everglades several miles away. Years of filmmaking and tv production in high school gradually pushed him toward broadcast meteorology at Florida State University, where he joined and eventually led the student run daily weather show. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology, he began his career at KESQ in Palm Springs, California before heading to KFSN in Fresno and WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina. He has covered a diverse array of extreme weather events, including haboobs and flash flooding in the desert, extreme snow in the Sierra, hurricanes, and Appalachian ice storms. He also enjoys telling stories and reporting about weather issues.

Cut-off low pressure has been slowly moving onshore from the Pacific in California, sending rounds of showers and thunderstorms into the Four Corners and Great Basin. This has led to up to 3-5 inches of rain in portions of Arizona, producing flash flooding issues. Large hail, up to the size of quarters, was also reported around the Phoenix metro area on Tuesday. This system will continue to produce heavy downpours and mountain snow as it slowly moves east to end the week, before another system fires up a new round of storms.<h2>Flooding</h2>Flood watches remain in effect into Thursday morning for a few counties in Central Arizona. Interstates could be impacted, especially I-17 but I-40 and I-10 could see impacts as well.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 062024-1763558620951.png">As another system brings moisture back to the region to end the week, additional flooding (as well as thunderstorms and snow) will be expected.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 062406-1763558749439.png">The Weather Prediction Center is highlighting isolated flash flooding threats through the end of the week. Additional outlooks may be needed for Saturday.<video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/2025-11-19 06-24-47-1763558802880.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video><h2>Forecast</h2>Scattered heavy downpours will continue to shift slowly east on Wednesday, with heavy rain sticking around AZ and UT for much of the day. Wednesday night into Thursday will see the heaviest precipitation shifting into NM and CO as the low heads into the Great Plains. Rain will stack along the Front Range of Colorado Thursday into Friday, with heavy mountain snow expected. See below for the snow focused forecast. <video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/2025-11-19 06-24-17-1763558784429.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video>The next round of rain arrives in Arizona by Friday, with isolated flooding possible. Rain totals through Saturday could easily top an inch or two in many locations, sometimes coming down very quickly. <img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 061718-1763558758359.png"><h2>Snow</h2>The mountains around the Four Corners can expect a healthy round of snow with the back-to-back lows through the end of the week. 6-12 inches or more can be expected on the highest summits. The snow has prompted winter weather advisories for portions of UT, CO, and NM.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 062319-1763558822866.png">Will Denver record their first snow of the season with this system? It looks woo warm for the Front Range, but it can't be completely ruled out. Four Corners Expecting More Flooding Rain, Mountain Snow

Temperatures have been hot in the south-central U.S., especially in Texas, where record highs have been set over the last few days. With this heat in mind, as we head into tomorrow, it could help fuel a thunderstorm threat. The system currently over the Four Corners will move into west Texas later on Wednesday. Storms are expected to erupt in the afternoon and will quickly intensify as they tap into daytime heating and humidity.<video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/2025-11-19 05-55-13-1763556942227.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video>The Storm Prediction Center has issued a MARGINAL (level 1 out of 5) risk for severe storms on Wednesday in portions of West Texas and into the Red River Valley of Oklahoma. The primary concern is large hail, but a few damaging wind gusts can't be ruled out at this point.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 053122-1763555511350.png">There are a few things that might hinder the severity of these storms. Questionable timing on the storms could keep them from reaching their full potential. Since storms could hold off until after sunset, the window to tap into the unstable air that builds up during the day could be narrow. One ingredient we know we have plenty of is moisture.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/we3b1-1763557227128.png">The Weather Prediction Center has also issued excessive rainfall outlooks starting Wednesday and continuing through the end of the week. The most concern for flash flooding will be on Thursday, when the second big push of widespread storms will move through.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1763557259491.png"><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 053927-1763556184484.png">But will that second batch of storms be severe? That's a bit up in the air still. Since storms will likely survive overnight, it will depend on how strong those are. If they are strong in the morning, an afternoon severe threat will be limited. Active Pattern Developing Across the Central U.S. This Week

Taban Sharifi grew up in Southern California between Los Angeles and San Diego. She is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) with the American Meteorological Society (AMS). She has a B.S. in Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Environmental Sciences with a minor in Environmental Systems and Society from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Go Bruins! While in school, Taban was a meteorology intern with NBC LA. There she helped forecast daily weather for the greater Los Angeles region and created a playbook to deploy weather sensors for NBC owned-and-operated stations across the country. Her first on-air job took her to San Angelo, Texas, where she was a morning meteorologist and co-anchor. Working in West Texas gave her knowledge and experience covering severe storms. From there, she moved to Palm Springs, California. People think forecasting in California is sunshine all the time, but with temperatures in the 120’s, wildfires, damaging winds, floodings, and earthquakes, the forecasting kept her very busy! She also worked there as a general assignment reporter and told community stories. Taban is excited for the challenge and opportunity to forecast nationally with WeatherNation. She also looks forward to exploring all that Colorado has to offer!

Intense rain and wind began impacting California again on Thursday and continued throughout the weekend as a strong Pacific trough began moving inland. AAA is expecting a record number of travelers this year, a number surpassing a record-breaking 2024! However, there will be some better times to do your traveling. A Record Breaking Thanksgiving Travel Week Expected

Originally born in Spokane, Washington,  Jackie's Dad was in the Air Force which led her to a life of travel. She has lived in Wichita, Okinawa, Japan, Baltimore, New Jersey, Indiana and South Carolina.  After graduating from Kadena High School, in Okinawa Japan, she got a full basketball scholarship to Coppin State College. On the court she was a 4-year starter and reached over 1000 points in her basketball career. She was also named Athlete of the Year for the whole university in 2002. Off the court, she earned a degree in Broadcast Production/English.

After college, she landed a job as a radio personality. Jackie went on to have a successful career for 12 years working at KXLY broadcast center. While on the radio, she decided to change career. Jackie went back to school, graduating from the Mississippi State Meteorology Broadcast Program. From snow, to tornadoes, to hurricanes, she has had experience forecasting all these events.

OHIO RIVER VALLEY - We have had multiple reports of hail across Illinois and Indiana.(above) Bellair, IL, saw 2.50" hail as of Tuesday afternoon. The severe threat remains in place through this Wednesday morning.<h2>Ohio Valley</h2>The SPC has maintained a SLIGHT risk for severe weather along the same warm front across parts of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Most storms should be hail-producers, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-18 193324-1763519649318.png">Storms will continue to ride along a low-pressure system through Wednesday morning. Make sure to have multiple ways to get alerts. Hail Storms Moving Through the Ohio Valley

Another November day in the south and another day of more record warmth! The high-pressure system bringing the record temperatures is sliding east and records across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Missouri! Texarkana, Arkansas, saw a record high of 86°, beating out the previous record of 83°.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/anf-1763512383021.png"><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/mo recordsss-1763512541548.png"><h1>Southern Plains</h1>Although Texas is no stranger to heat, temperatures are still feeling more like summer, with some locales reaching high temperatures 15-20°+ above average! There will be a shift in the pattern, as some cities, including Oklahoma City, will see the temperatures drop to the 60s on Thursday.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-18 133519-1763498142095.png"><h1>Southeast</h1>As the ridge migrates further east later this week, places like Tennessee and North Carolina will get a bump to their afternoon highs. Weekend System Brings Snow, Ice, & Storms to the Northeast

It looks like the end to the growing season over much of the Upper Midwest as temperatures tumble down into the 20s and 30s to start this weekend. Cold air dropping southward with a strong high pressure center will bring the chilly temperatures to the region. The thermometer has already dropped substantially from Thursday. With clear skies and calm winds, frost is likely.
