It looks like the end to the growing season over much of the Upper Midwest as temperatures tumble down into the 20s and 30s to start this weekend. Cold air dropping southward with a strong high pressure center will bring the chilly temperatures to the region. The thermometer has already dropped substantially from Thursday. With clear skies and calm winds, frost is likely. Frost Advisories and Freezing Warnings have been issued over most of the Upper Midwest. Temperatures will fall to freezing or colder into Saturday morning. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Cover or move plants indoors to protect them from the killing frost and freeze. For WeatherNation: Meteorologist Mace Michaels
