Wet weather is ahead for the many areas in the east to end the week. A storm system is stretching across much of the eastern half of the nation. It will produce heavy rain with a potential for flooding. Flood alerts extend from the Jersey Shore to Florida's Big Bend. Some areas may see as much as 6" of rain into this weekend. The system is currently located from the Central Plains to the Gulf of Mexico. The first punch of moisture is already impacting Florida, and will spread up the Eastern Seaboard. The second round of energy will arrive Friday, keeping rain lingering into the start of the weekend. For WeatherNation: Meteorologist Mace Michaels
