A series of upper-level disturbances will bring the chance for severe storms today over areas of the Central Plains to the Upper Mississippi Valley.  Some areas under the risk of severe storms today are some of the same areas that deal with severe storms and heavy rain just yesterday.  Here is the very latest.

Severe Outlook

From the Rockies the the Great Lakes, the risk of severe storms in the forecast today.  So cities like North Platte, Sioux Falls and Minneapolis will need to keep a close eye on the forecast.

Severe Risks

All severe risks are in play today, but the highest risk will be the damaging wind threat.  Hail up to 1" in diameter and an isolated tornado will be possible.

Forecast

The timing for today's severe storms will be during the afternoon and evening hours.  Strong upper-level winds will help to keep these storms going through the evening even after the sun goes down.  Keep checking with WeatherNation for the latest updates.
