After an active day Thursday on the East Coast, we'll see a risk for severe storms return to the area. The same front that has been bringing storms to the region the past several days stays with us firing up storm chances all day. Some could be severe with a marginal to slight risk for severe storms in the area. Strong wind gusts and even a few isolated tornadoes will be possible. Parts of the Midwest also see severe storm chances Friday. W Minnesota, SE North Dakota and E South Dakota see the highest risk today. Strong winds are the main threats with storms favoring the late afternoon and evening hours. For Weather Nation: Meteorologist Emily Roehler
