A stalled storm system will continue to produce showers and thunderstorms today (Tuesday) from the Northern Plains into the Ohio Valley. A few storms will become heavy in the late afternoon and continue into the night. There is a slight risk for severe storms in the Northern and High Plains, with a marginal risk for the Ohio Valley. Instability remains locked in place across the Ohio Valley as a stationary front remains draped across the region. As Jet Stream energy crosses over the area, storms will fire and could become severe. A cold front dropping slowly southeast in the Montana and the Dakotas will produce several rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Severe storms are likely to develop in the late afternoon and continue into the evening, with large hail and damaging wind gusts. WeatherNation will have severe weather updates on-air and online, check back throughout the day for the latest information. For WeatherNation: Meteorologist Mace Michaels
