A major winter storm system that brought heavy snow, ice, and wind through the Plains to the Midwest is beginning to wind down. Winter weather alerts, are still in affect for the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic. Areas of Kansas and Missouri have cleared out but impressive impacts being reported with snowfall totals up to 18"!
Accumulations of ice reached over 0.50".
The ice made major impacts, taking down trees and creating numerous power outages.
The remaining snow and ice accumulations will be lighter throughout the night. Still, keep a look out for slick roadways on the morning commute Tuesday.
