UPPER MIDWEST - Blizzard warnings are in effect for the I-29 corridor through 9 PM tonight. In particular, the Red River Valley of the North. Dangerous driving conditions persist as blizzard conditions are expected to continue through tonight.
Additional winter alerts are in place for portions of the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest through tonight as this frontal system moves through, brings in snow, and intense winds that could drop visibility.
Snowfall totals look to be fairly minimal; the strong wind gusts are what are going to cause the most disruptions outdoors in the region.
Behind this system, bitter cold will rush in with wind chill factors that will drop down to the negatives. Cold weather advisories have been issued for this area for wind chill factors that could get as cold as 40 below zero.
