A Lake Effect Snow event that started on Thanksgiving still exists across the Great Lakes and the Northeast. People are still digging out from what they picked up this weekend, with a little more on the way Tuesday morning.

The lake effect snow machine will slowly start to wind down throughout the day Tuesday. Our next system will enter the picture Tuesday night, in the form of a clipper. That looks to bring us a dose of system snow and start the lake effect machine for the end of the week.

As the winds start to turn direction, snow will gradually wind down. Additional totals could approach a foot in some isolated areas, but most will fall pretty well short of 12 inches.
