ATLANTA - We've reached the middle of July. That means two things: I'm getting tired of the heat and there's only baseball to watch. The All-Star Game is set to take place on Tuesday, with the first pitch around 8:00 PM EDT. The festivities are taking place this year in Truist Park in Atlanta. It doesn't have a roof. Let's see if that's going to be an issue...

TUESDAY

The NWS office in Peachtree City mentioned in their Area Forecast Discussion Sunday...

"I feel like a broken record writing these lately,"

I feel that.

Unfortunately, that means more storm chances to pitch around on Tuesday. Once they get up and going in the afternoon, they should start to dwindle closer to gametime - I guess it's good they have a later start. If I had to guess, they'll more than likely be able to get it in unscathed. However, that many people outdoors with a thunderstorm in the vicinity makes us nervous.

The trend over the last 24 hours could be a positive one, however. The current thinking is that whatever does develop late this afternoon could fizzle by the time the first pitch is released. But if you're heading to any festivities prior to, watch out.
