NORTHEAST: The northeastern United States is in for a few quick-moving clipper systems this week leading up to Christmas. These systems could bring minor travel impacts, especially on Tuesday. A fast-moving clipper is forecast to move through Tuesday, bringing rain near the Great Lakes and snow farther inland. Here’s a look at our forecast models and the timing of this system.
As we head toward Christmas, travelers along the eastern I-84 corridor and parts of the I-95 could run into a mix of rain and snow.

In terms of accumulation, our in-house model is showing generally a trace to a couple of inches of snowfall.
Boston AreaIn the Boston area, there are two rounds of potential wintry weather, one on Tuesday morning and another on Tuesday evening. Temperatures will be borderline, hovering right around freezing.

Snowfall totals are also expected to remain light as we head toward Christmas Eve.
