A strong low-pressure system in the eastern Gulf will slowly exit the Northeast on Friday, still packing heavy downpours and a change-over to snow. Earlier this week, onshore flow combined with an astronomically high tide to produced coastal flooding in the DelMarVa.

The remaining moisture will still be sticking around areas in New England today Many spots along I-95 will receive 1-2" of rain through Friday, with isolated areas getting 3" of rain. This could be enough rain to cause localized flooding.

A Flood Watch continues for Maine through Friday evening as ponding on roads and urban flooding will likely linger for many in eastern New England.

Northern Maine can expect a quick change-over to heavy snow tonight, with up to 7" possible through Saturday morning. Winds could also gusts to 45 mph, creating areas of blowing snow.
