Upper-level high pressure will stay dominant over the western U.S., leading to dangerous heat and dry conditions (and wildfire risk). Heat alerts have come to an end for the southwest, but there are still some in the northwestern U.S.

Extreme Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories remain in place across the Northwest, as temperatures are expected to run above average. Seattle has a forecast high of 88° on Tuesday, and normally averages 77°. By Mid-Week and the end of the week, expect temperatures to cool down.

The longer range temperature trend for the last days of August looks warmer than normal in the Pacific Northwest/West Coast and normal across the Four Corners.
