The Plains and Northeast have seen their fair share of severe weather this past week. This pattern, however, has been severely targeting the Plains. Especially, over Labor Day weekend. We were clocking severe-tier wind speeds out of SD and NE through Labor Day itself!

TUESDAY

With a cold front setting up Tuesday afternoon, there's enough energy for some severe storms. The outlook is rather small, with a SLIGHT (level 2 out of 5) risk being issued. However, it doesn't mean these storms can't be dangerous!

All threats are on the table, including, an isolated risk of a spin-up tornado!

Storms are expected to be firing up throughout all of Tuesday. We can even potentially see these storms stretching into the overnight hours. Come Wednesday, the threat will be squeezed further south and east.

WEDNESDAY

The severe threat come Wednesday will likely stay right along that cold front as it shoves south. A MARGINAL (level 1 out of 5) risk for severe weather has been issued by the SPC, with damaging winds and hail being the main threat expected.

FLOOD THREAT

Rounds of efficient storms are expected across a lot of the Plains and Northeast. As a result, the risk for flash flooding will be on the table at least until Wednesday.
