WHAT TO EXPECT

An area of low pressure that brought severe storms earlier in the week will now dip back down to the south and continue to bring snow and rain across portions of the northern plains and the midwest. This system has brought between 6 and 12 inches in the Dakotas in the last 24 hours. This low is moving south and the snow chances will follow it! Things will get busy as this low will combine with another low coming out of Canada. Snow will continue to spread through Michigan and Wisconsin tonight and into Thursday as it works south and east.

Winter weather advisories (purple) have been issued for South Dakota, a small portion of Minnesota, and Western Wisconsin. 1-3 inches of additional snow will be possible, (with localized heavier amounts). Another impact we have been seeing is wind gusts, gusts can reach up to 50 mph through tomorrow morning.

Once this system moves to the east, drier conditions will be in place. As we look at the 7-day forecast for Minneapolis cool temps and partly cloudy to sunny skies are in store this week.
