Brace yourselves, Texas, the risk of severe weather is in the forecast Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop through the afternoon and evening hours. Strong storms are possible in parts of surrounding states too (Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana). However, the Storm Prediction Center has highlighted an Enhanced Risk area for severe thunderstorms solely in the Lone Star State.
Thunderstorms will have the potential to produced strong wind gusts and damaging hail. The risk of tornadoes cannot be ruled out either.
The severe threat will not only occur during the afternoon and evening hours, but also well after dark.
This storm system will continue into the Southeastern states on Thursday and bring another round of severe weather and the potential for flooding rainfall.
Further north,
