A strong low-pressure system brought impressive snowfall to areas from the Plains to the Mid-Atlantic this week, including over a foot of snow in downtown Virginia Beach! As the low exits the region, expect slick road conditions and light, lingering snowfall.

Scattered snow showers will continue behind the low from Kentucky into South Carolina. Even locations in northern Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia saw some flakes falling early Thursday. Scattered snow showers will continue as the low deepens in the Atlantic Ocean for parts of the Northeast. Around midnight, most of the snow will end except for a few lingering lake-effect showers!

1"-3" of snow will be possible on average, but there will be isolated heavier snowfall totals in the Northeast.
