Activity in the Atlantic!

The Atlantic has been very quiet so far this hurricane season. We have seen a total of five named storms since the season started, but we are now getting into the peak of hurricane season, so activity could be ramping up soon. We now have our eye on a low pressure system just south of Cape Verde. It has about a 20 percent chance of forming into our next named storm. Although the chance is very low, this is something we should keep watching as the storm continues to move west over the next few days. If this system strengthens, we could possible see Florence by the end of the weekend!   For WeatherNation -Meteorologist Shelly Lindblade
