An active pattern into the beginning of the workweek will bring some much-needed moisture to the drought-stricken southwest. Winter weather alerts are already up for parts of California and Utah as this system could bring more than a foot of snow in some spots. An area of low pressure will start off over parts of Nevada and California bringing in rain and snow as early as Sunday, with snow ending from west to east through Tuesday.  Here's a look at the timing of the arrival of moisture across the region. Between now and Tuesday, some areas could be measuring snow in feet while at the lower elevations rain totals will be on the lower end from California into the Four Corners.
