Boston-area kids hoping for snow days probably aren't going to like this, but Boston's lack of snow so far this season is truly astounding. Even after 2.4" of snow and sleet on Tuesday - the city's largest snow event of the season, believe it or not - Boston's seasonal snowfall total now sits at just 4.7". To put that into perspective, Boston's typically seen about 28" of snow by mid-February, putting Boston around two feet below average. In fact, here's a list - in no particular order - of cities that have seen more snow than Boston so far this winter: Washington, D.C. New York City Philadelphia Denver Kansas City St. Louis Raleigh Asheville, NC Indianapolis Lubbock, TX Albuquerque St. Louis Chicago Cleveland Pittsburgh It's been an unusual snow hole for Boston, no doubt. And there's little snow in the near-term forecast for the city, so the streak will likely continue. Sorry, kids. For WeatherNation: Meteorologist Chris Bianchi
