Early on Monday morning, a brush fire broke out in Malibu, CA near the Civic Center.

The brush fire grew to 6 acres and prompted evacuation orders for parts of southern California.

Firefighters contained the brush fire to 95% containment shortly after and lifted evacuation orders.

The Santa Ana winds continue to work in extremely dry and warm air into the region which is setting up prime fire conditions.
The winds continue to gust today up to 65 mph but will decrease overnight.
The coupling of low relative humidity levels and strong winds is why Red Flag Warnings are in place across southern California.
Be sure to be extra cautious today when outside. Hold off on outdoor burning and be cautious of how and where you park your car.
