An Alberta Clipper, or arguably an "Ontario Scary-o," made its way into the States and brought some snow from the Midwest and into the Mid-Atlantic. Michigan saw some of the highest snow totals reaching over 5" in some cities.
Yesterday, the clipper system did produce up to five inches of snow in SE Michigan and up to 4" in the higher elevations of the Appalachia. There's not much life left in this same system. All that's left of it is some scattered rain in the Carolinas and up into Virginia. Hit and miss showers can linger into this afternoon, but it will slowly move offshore and out of sight by the evening.
Most of the accumulation that we can see today is in the form of rain. Since the rain will be relatively scattered, it will primarily be trace amounts of rainfall across southern Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
