Cold temperatures are settling across the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys tonight with a frost and freeze likely over the region. Alerts extend from the Central Plains to the Middle Atlantic. The mercury will fall into the 30s, with some areas dropping into the 20s by Friday morning. A strong area of high pressure will sit just north of the region by Friday morning. This will bring in a clear sky, calm wind, and cold temperatures. The cold conditions may damage or kill vegetation and crops that are sensitive to an early spring freeze if precautions are not taken. Remember to cover up any tender vegetation or crops that could be threatened by the cold weather.
