Heat Advisories Issued in the Northeast and Southeast

The heat index will approach the century point once again today (Tuesday) in the Northeast as another day of heat and humidity builds across the region. Heat Advisories have been issued from the Canadian Border to the Jersey Shore. High temperatures will reach well into the 90s over most of the Northeast ahead of a cold front.
In the Southeast, the heat index will surge above 100 in many areas. A Heat Advisory has been issued from central Georgia to into eastern Mississippi when it may feel like 105. The mercury will be well into the 90s this afternoon.
The heat will continue on Wednesday, although it won't be as widespread or intense. Highs in the 90s will still be felt in many areas from New York City to the Gulf of Mexico.
