Heavy rain is likely to lead to flash flooding Saturday along the Gulf of Mexico, particularly from Florida's western Panhandle through Mobile Bay. This is where a level 3 excessive rainfall outlook has been issued, due to several rounds of heavy rain that are anticipated. A moderate risk (below) for excessive rainfall is issued where confidence is high for heavy rain, with several flash flood warnings anticipated. Be prepared to seek higher ground if your area is vulnerable to flash flooding.

On the severe front for this evening, we will need to continue to keep an eye out for additional thunderstorm growth into Louisiana and Mississippi. The biggest severe threats will be wind, hail, and heavy rain. After sunset, we should begin to see a reduction in thunderstorm coverage across the Deep South.
