Heavy Snow for the Central and Southern Plains

A storm system moving through the middle of the nation brought heavy snow to the Central and Southern Plains over the last 36 hours. Winter weather alerts remain in effect for portions of Missouri and Illinois for a couple of inches of additional snowfall. The weakening storm system will along the Gulf of Mexico coastline into warmer air. Snow will gradually come to an end this afternoon (Wednesday).
